Facts about Bonfim

Bonfim is a parish situated in the eastern part of the city of Porto. Extending to the Douro River, Bonfim has much heritage, such as majestic mansions – mostly owned by Portuguese men that went to Brazil and returned with a lot of money – and the well-known "Ilhas do Porto" – located essentially in Rua de S. Vítor. Once characterized by its industrial cluster, today we can still find evidences in Bonfim from that period, that marked it in the second-half of the nineteenth century and in the twentieth century.
