Gardens of Bonfim
Come to Bonfim and see the many gardens that the parish has. There you will be able to relax, read a good book, listen to music and be in contact with nature. Enjoy the fauna and flora of this part of Porto. Visit the Nova Sintra Park and you will find some old fountains of Porto city.
A - Doutor Francisco Sá Carneiro Garden

Located in the Antas area, once called Praça Velasquez Garden, it was built in 1948. It has a circular shape and an allusive sculpture of Francisco Sá Carneiro. E - Campo 24 de Agosto Garden

Created in the early years of the Republic, between 1912 and 1914, most of its trees still originate from the time of its creation. Normally used as a walkway, this triangular garden incorporates an irregular lake around which the trees are predominately young cedars and chamaecyparis. The garden is dominated to the north by a viewpoint that was built in here and which increases the natural slope of the terrain. Sycamore trees were planted around the garden. To the south there is a series of Jacarandas from Brazil that are very rare in the north of the country. A sculpture in the garden representing Afonso Costa is worth highlighting. (Learn more...)
F - Nova Sintra Park

This park, once property of the Reid family, of British origin, was acquired by the Porto City Council in 1932. The garden retains many original features: wide botanical diversity, dense trees, lush forests, many alleys and byways. The small palace of the property is now occupied by the company Águas do Porto and respective infrastructure and the green space around it was turned into a park, housing old fountains and drinking fountains of Porto displaced at the time of the progressive water piping in the city.
